The World Cup is approaching, with ticket prices skyrocketing, making the tournament's final an experience only a select few will enjoy.
On FIFA's official resale platform, exorbitant prices were recorded, with 4 Category 1 tickets for the final at "MetLife Stadium" selling for €2,145,000 each!
Although FIFA states that it does not control resale prices, the organizing body significantly benefits from the initial prices it has set, as it will collect a 15% commission from both the buyer and the seller of each ticket.
Should such a ticket be sold, the Federation would earn approximately €643,000 per ticket solely from resale fees.
This situation has naturally caused strong reactions, as even the cheapest tickets for the World Cup final now reach €10,180.
Beyond the stadium, travel costs are also dizzying. Specifically, the train from New York to the stadium now costs €140 (round trip), while its normal price is only €12.
Despite various appeals from fan organizations to the European Commission, FIFA aims to record record revenues of €10.25 billion from the tournament!
