Champions League: AEK, PAOK, Olympiacos hope for the League Phase

Champions League: ΑΕΚ, ΠΑΟΚ, Ολυμπιακός ελπίζουν για League Phase

AEK, PAOK and Olympiacos are competing for the championship and at the same time hoping for their entry into the Champions League League Phase and the inflow of tens of millions of euros into their coffers.

Andreas Dimatos, in his analysis, referred to what applies to each team.

If Olympiacos wins the championship, due to its ranking, it will enter the League Phase. The only danger is Shakhtar.

If AEK wins the title, it will be unseeded in the playoffs, but with opponents that are not daunting.

As champion, PAOK will be seeded in the playoffs and has some chances to reach the League Phase!

Detailed statements by Andreas Dimatos:

"Ferencváros moved up to first place in the Hungarian championship with their postponed match against Puskás Akadémia, and with the current data, they would be the team with a direct spot in the League Phase of the next Champions League.

As the situation stands now in the European championships, the five seeded teams in the playoffs of the next Champions League, and thus potential opponents for AEK as Greek champion, would be: Red Star, Dinamo Zagreb, Slovan Bratislava, Sturm Graz, and Lech Poznań.

Except for Sturm, the other four teams, of course, would have to go through the previous qualifying rounds to reach the playoffs.

Based on their coefficient after yesterday's victory, AEK is right after and would be... leading the group of non-seeded teams along with Celje, Omonia, Shamrock Rovers, and KuPS Kuopio from Finland. One elimination in the previous qualifiers would be enough for them to move up to the seeded teams.

Things could get worse if Shakhtar, currently second, wins the championship in Ukraine, as could Rangers in Scotland. However, things could also become much more favorable if the second-placed LASK succeeds in Austria, or whichever of the three teams pursuing Lech Poznań by two or three points in Poland!

On the other hand, today's second-placed PAOK, as Greek champion, would definitely be seeded in the Champions League playoffs in any possible or... improbable development of the European championships. It is impossible with their coefficient for them not to be among the five seeded teams.

For PAOK to qualify directly for the League Phase of the next Champions League as Greek champion, neither Rangers in Scotland, nor Shakhtar in Ukraine, nor Ferencváros in Hungary should win the title, and Midtjylland should not make a comeback in Denmark.

Regarding Olympiacos, with the current data, if they are the Greek champions, it remains certain that they would take Ferencváros' place and would directly qualify for the League Phase of the next Champions League.

Olympiacos, if they win the Greek championship, risks losing their direct spot in the next Champions League only if Shakhtar wins the Conference League with three victories in the semi-finals and final...".
