As every year, this year too, on the sidelines of the Final Four in Athens, the Adidas Next Gen will also be hosted, a tournament in which U18 teams participate, specifically the players of "tomorrow" in European (and beyond) basketball.
Greek representation will have... green colors as the Panathinaikos team will participate!
Specifically, 8 teams will participate, and as announced by the Euroleague, this will be the first time that 3 Stripes Select Basketball (3SSB) will participate in the Next Gen Finals.
3SSB is Adidas Basketball's premier grassroots platform, designed for student-athletes seeking to compete at a higher level, offering a comprehensive annual program of competitive camps, tournaments, and activities for boys and girls.
The 8 participating teams
- Cedevita/Olimpija (winner of NextGen Ulm)
- Barcelona (winner of NextGen Bologna)
- INSEP (winner of NextGen Belgrade)
- Next Generation Team 3SSB
- Crvena Zvezda
- Real Madrid
- Zalgiris Kaunas
- Panathinaikos
The clubs participating in the Next Gen Finals have won a total of 12 U18 European titles, including 9 of the last 11.
Zalgiris participates as the reigning champion, having won the trophy in last year's final in Abu Dhabi, which was their third title after 2007 and the inaugural event in 2003.
Real has won a total of 5 titles (2015, 2019, 2021, 2023 and 2024), while INSEP has 2, in 2010 and 2017.
Barcelona won the European championship in 2016, while Crvena Zvezda won its only title in 2014.
