Olympiacos survived in Sofia and after a great game, took the victory against Hapoel (85-89) and moved up to 25-12.
Now Olympiacos is embracing first place, which they will secure either with a victory against Armani on the final matchday, or with a Valencia loss.
The most important thing for Olympiacos, however, was not the victory, but the return of Moustapha Fall to action, with the Frenchman ending his competitive inactivity and returning to action after 308 days!
A "half-victory" play for the game, however, was the offensive rebound and the basket by Peters in the 39th minute, as well as the great defensive plays by the Piraeus team in the final minute.
- MADE THE DIFFERENCE… Tyler Dorsey with 23 points.
- WORTHY SUPPORTERS WERE… Peters with 11 points was crucial, as was Joseph with 10.
- COULD HAVE DONE BETTER… Wainright had 2 points, with Olympiacos allowing him to shoot and him going 0/3.
- DEFEATED BUT... Micic was very good with 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 8 assists.
- WHAT HAPPENED IN THE FIRST ROUND: Olympiacos had prevailed at SEF with 62-58.
Quarter scores: 18-22, 48-51, 67-73, 85-89.
