Olympiacos coach Georgios Bartzokas, stated at the press conference after the victory over Monaco in Game 3 and the qualification for the Final Four: "I am grateful to the Olympiacos organization for the way we have worked throughout the season. This was the second part of the season, the first was the regular season and the third is the Final Four. We were consistent, we finished first in the regular season and swept a very good opponent like Monaco.
I believe we deserve to be there; it's not just about the basketball we've played all season. Whenever we had problems, the team presidents would bring in a player to help us. Additionally, I want to give credit to the fans; they supported us everywhere, even today, and we dedicate this qualification to our amazing fans."
Commenting on Olympiacos' performance in Game 3 against Monaco, he said: "The key for us to score a lot of three-pointers is how creative we are. Today we had about 30 assists, we had 18 in the first half. Also, passing the ball so much, all our shooting statistics are in this rhythm. I think for the last three or four years we have been first in numbers in the competition, of course in assists we are always first, we are first in creation, so this is our key to be altruistic and share the ball. We can score a lot of points, we had about 60 in the first half, and this is how we play when we are united. I believe in the third quarter we stopped playing this way, we believed the game was over, but a game is not over until it's over. We have great shooters like Dorsey, Fournier, Peters, Vezenkov, but at the same time you know that even if you give space to creative players like Thomas Walkup, they can hit four in a row. It's something we work on and try to give confidence to any player who is open to shoot the ball."
When asked about the fact that the series was decided in 3 wins, he pointed out: "A team might play 5 games and then be ready for the Final Four, or it might win 3 games like us and have a break before the Final Four. We also have the playoffs in the Greek championship next Wednesday, I believe we can find our rhythm, but we definitely need 4 days of rest because the season has been difficult, as it has been for every team in the competition. Then we will return to training with the same mindset and the way we train throughout the season with our entire roster, which is very deep, and we will give our all to bring the trophy to Piraeus. You know it's not easy, and all teams want to go to the Final Four, and those that qualify are big names in European basketball, but I believe we have luck on our side."
The coach of Olympiacos commented on Evan Fournier's performance: "Evan Fournier doesn't need one game to prove his worth. He is very competitive and always plays for the win, but for me the most important thing is that such a personality who came from so many successful seasons in the NBA, came with the right mentality to the team, he is incredibly easy to coach and he is one of the best teammates we have. He always supports his teammates, so it's something you don't easily find with players of his caliber, but Evan has all these qualities and we are grateful for that."
He concluded by saying: "First we have to focus on the semi-final because we are playing against Fenerbahce or Zalgiris, it will be a very difficult match and no one guarantees you that you will play in the final or win the trophy. Let's remain humble. For our fans it's something amazing, ever since we learned that the Final Four would be in Athens at OAKA, everyone desperately wants us to win the EuroLeague, especially because we are playing in this home but in the end it's a European title and it's not easy at all to win it so we'll see. The emotions will explode in the Final Four and in the final, we'll see.
