Arteta: "I've never felt like this at this stadium before."

Αρτέτα: «Δεν έχω ξανά νιώσει έτσι σε αυτό το γήπεδο»

Arsenal hosted Atletico Madrid in London yesterday (05/05) in the second leg of the Champions League semifinals and won 1-0, thus "sealing" their ticket to the Budapest final on May 30.

In the press conference after the match, the "Gunners" coach, Mikel Arteta, described the "unique" atmosphere at "Emirates" as the key to the team reaching a Champions League final for the first time in 20 years.

"It's an incredible night. We made history again together. I couldn't be happier or prouder of everyone involved in this football club. The way we were welcomed outside the stadium was special and unique. The atmosphere created by our fans, the energy, they lived every ball with us, I've never felt anything like it in this stadium before".

"We knew how much it meant to everyone, we put everything on the line, the boys did an incredible job and after 20 years, and for the second time in our history, we are back in the Champions League final".

The Spanish coach also praised Diego Simeone's team for their effort and fighting spirit, as Arsenal continues its unbeaten run in the competition.

"We know how difficult and demanding every opponent is at this level. Atletico is an incredible team, the way they play, they have an answer to everything you try to do immediately. Diego has done an excellent job there and the margins are so small. Tonight, they competed fairly against us".
