AEK, PAOK, Olympiacos are battling for the title, and the champion will have a strong chance of playing in the League Phase of the Champions League next season.
Of course, AEK is the favorite, and Andreas Dimatos, in his post, highlighted the favorable conditions that have been created for Marco Nikolic's team, as well as for PAOK and Olympiacos.
Currently, if AEK wins the title, they will be seeded and won't face any giants in the playoffs. Qualification will therefore be achievable.
PAOK, in turn, will definitely be seeded, while if Olympiacos wins the title with the best coefficient, they will definitely be in the League Phase.
Here's what Andreas Dimatos specifically states:
"If the European championships concluded tonight, the data for the Greek champion in the qualifiers for the next Champions League would be as follows:
AEK would have the sixth-best coefficient among the 43 champion teams participating in the Champions Path for the 5 tickets to the League Phase. Given that Shakhtar Donetsk, with the highest coefficient, would take the trophy holder's spot, AEK would be among the 5 seeded teams in the playoffs, along with Red Star Belgrade, Dinamo Zagreb, Slovan Bratislava, and Lech Poznan, teams they would avoid in the draw on August 3rd.
Their likely opponents would definitely be Viking, the champion of Norway, Hearts, who remain first in Scotland, Austrian LASK, who regained the lead tonight, and 2 more teams that would advance from the previous qualifying rounds.
Among them would be the champion of Slovenia, Celje, the champion of Cyprus, Omonia, the champion of Ireland, Shamrock Rovers, etc.
For this favorable situation to be maintained for AEK, the conditions in Scotland, Denmark, Austria, and Hungary must not change, with Hearts, Aarhus, LASK, and Győr remaining in first place until the end!
PAOK would have the second-best coefficient behind Shakhtar Donetsk, who would go directly to the League Phase, and would participate in the qualifiers with the highest coefficient among all champion teams from countries ranked 11th to 55th in the UEFA standings, and of course, would also be seeded.
There is no possible scenario for the European championships to unfold that would result in PAOK not being seeded in the playoffs!
Olympiacos would have the best coefficient among all 43 champions and would take the direct spot in the League Phase of the next Champions League from Shakhtar, avoiding the playoff process.
The spot of the Greek champion in the playoffs would be taken by Shakhtar, who would move up from the second qualifying round to the playoffs!
There is no possible scenario for the European championships to unfold that would result in Olympiacos losing their direct spot in the next Champions League if they win the Greek championship!"
