AEK: What the Celtic championship win means for them

ΑΕΚ: Τι σημαίνει για αυτήν η κατάκτηση του πρωταθλήματος από τη Σέλτικ

Hearts' dream was extinguished in the final minutes, as Celtic prevailed 3-1 and won yet another Scottish championship, with Alexandros Kyziridis' team finishing second in the Premiership standings.

This development does not favour AEK, who wanted the Celts to finish second in order to have hopes of being seeded in the Champions League playoffs.

Now, as Andreas Dimatos points out, AEK will need one of the following teams to be eliminated in the 2nd qualifying round: Red Star Belgrade, Dinamo Zagreb, Slovan Bratislava, or Lech Poznan, in order to be among the 5 seeded teams.

Furthermore, the UEFA advisor reminds us that Marko Nikolić's team wants Győr to win the championship in Hungary instead of Ferencváros, and LASK Linz in Austria instead of Sturm Graz.
