With 3 matchdays remaining in the Play Off 1-4 of the Stoiximan Super League, AEK is +6 points ahead of Olympiacos and PAOK, which means they hold the title in their hands.
If the Double-headed Eagle wins the championship, then they will start next season from the Play Offs of the Champions League, while in the worst-case scenario for the Union where they finish 2nd, they will play in the 2nd qualifying round of the top club competition.
According to the page Football Meets Data, AEK currently has a 72.9% chance of competing in the League Phase of the "stars" next winter.
The UEFA Media Consultant, Andreas Dimatos, highlighted how beneficial the run to the Conference League quarterfinals was for the Double-headed Eagle, while reminding that last year the corresponding chances for qualification in 3 qualifying rounds of UEFA's third-tier competition were at 21%!
Andreas Dimatos' post
"This is indicative of what a great opportunity it is to take advantage of participating in the Conference League, even with just one good year in a team's European five-year period.
If AEK wins the Greek championship, they will participate in the Champions League qualifiers, always with the current data, with the 5th best coefficient among all 42 champions.
With last year's coefficient, they would be right in the middle!
They would only be 20th...
Powerless from the second qualifying round!
Result? The same calculation that last year gave AEK a 21% chance of qualifying for the Conference, now gives them 72.9% for participation in the Champions League League Phase!"
