Panathinaikos may have been decimated in Patras, but this did not prevent them from dominating on the court and achieving a comfortable victory before the double-header and their own "Golgotha" that they have to "climb" in Spain in two games against Barcelona and Valencia.
The "Greens" traveled to the Achaean capital with only 9 available players and 7 absences, yet they had no trouble securing the win.
In fact, Ataman had the opportunity to rest Sloukas and Hernangómez, who played only 8 and 9 minutes respectively in the first half.
- THEY WON BECAUSE… they had an amazing 6-31 run in the 2nd quarter, turning the rest of the game into a formality.
- THE DIFFERENCE WAS MADE BY… Dinos Mitoglou, who was consistent with 21 points and 9 rebounds.
- WORTHY SUPPORTERS WERE… Marius Grigonis, who made a strong return to GBL games with 16 points, and Short (19 pts, 5 ast, 3 reb) also had a very good presence.
- COULD HAVE DONE BETTER… all of Promitheas. The Patras team was disappointing throughout the game.
- DEFEATED BUT... Dae Dae Grant was simply the top scorer when everything had already been decided.
Quarter scores: 14-26, 20-57, 36-77, 63-96.
