Mitoglou: "It's in Panathinaikos' DNA to win."

Μήτογλου: «Στο DNA του Παναθηναϊκού είναι να κερδίζει»

The Greek international forward/center played for approximately 32 minutes and was the driving force behind the final 96-63 victory against Promitheas.

Specifically, he finished the game with 21 points, shooting 6/8 on two-pointers, 2/4 on three-pointers, and 3/3 on free throws, along with 9 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 turnover, resulting in a performance index rating of 26.

After the game, he spoke to state television, initially stating: "Congratulations to Promitheas, we all know what a good team they are. They had absences and problems, as did we. We clearly came with absences, with players with illnesses, with injuries, but we are who we are, we were the number we were. I am very happy because we all showed an amazing reaction. We had very good energy and all the guys helped. Kouzeloglou also came, who was in Marousi, and helped us a lot. It's in Panathinaikos' DNA to win. We came with victory in mind, prepared. We rested and traveled yesterday. A difficult week is ahead for us."

Regarding whether they should have conserved energy for the double-header in Spain, Mitoglou characteristically stated: "Anyone who thinks like that doesn't deserve to be at Panathinaikos. If you don't play hard and 100%, the primary reason is to get injured. So, there was no such issue. We went in to play strong, to win, and to get this lead. I'm glad we played very well."

Regarding Ataman's choice of tall lineups, he said: "I enjoy this lineup. Firstly, we are big bodies, we can switch on defense in all positions. We open up the court, we can run. Juancho and Nigel know how to read the game. We now know each other by heart. Because Nigel, I, and Juancho are power forwards, we understand each other very well in spacing. We automatically know what to do and what not to do. And on defense, it's easy to switch. We are big bodies, we have no problem with rebounds. It's very important that it worked out for us."

Regarding the defeat in Sofia against Hapoel, he stated: "We missed a great opportunity. Our fans were amazing. Many people traveled and we know their support. It was a great opportunity, but looking back won't help us. We essentially have three finals. So, as I've said, Panathinaikos clearly has to win. We go with victory in mind."
