Panathinaikos AKTOR BC launched an attack against the president of the HBF, Vangelis Liolios, after what Michalis Dimitrakopoulos stated and the revelations he made at the press conference of Maroussi.
Among other things, it refers to the complaint made by Maroussi BC, while it declares him illegal and deposed, demanding his resignation from the presidency of the federation.
Panathinaikos's full announcement:
"For years now, Panathinaikos has been targeted because it highlights the incredible things happening in Greek basketball under the presidency of Mr. Evangelos Liolios. Yesterday, it was emphatically proven with the evidence that began to be presented at the press conference of Maroussi Chery BC, but most importantly, with the official complaint of the same team to all competent authorities, that Greek basketball has been transformed into a shadow play where the president of the HBF pulls the strings of the puppets.
He who, according to his own messages which, despite his awkward statements, he has not denied, is proven to know which referees will officiate league games two days before their appointment by the Central Refereeing Committee (KED) and their official announcement. We ultimately wonder what the role of the Central Refereeing Committee is, given that it is self-evident that the strongman of the HBF knew about the supposed appointments even before they were made.
In short, a system has been created that favors all those who support him and disadvantages those who oppose him.
Among the latter is - of course - Panathinaikos AKTOR, which has been grossly wronged by specific referees who were appointed even in the Championship finals.
Among the teams favored by this system is - of course - Promitheas Patras. As effectively proven by Mr. Liolios's own messages, in addition to being the president of the HBF, he is also the one who decides on behalf of Promitheas Patras, acting as the team's owner, a fact that constitutes unfair competition and renders him ILLEGAL and DEPOSED. It is clear from these specific conversations that Mr. Liolios spoke as the absolute "boss" of Promitheas Patras, negotiating transfers and sales of athletes to other teams.
The official complaint of Maroussi Chery BC with all the supporting evidence has already reached the hands of all competent authorities, who are rapidly examining it. Now no one can claim ignorance. Now everyone knows, and with evidence!
It is obvious that after the new revelations, Mr. Evangelos Liolios cannot remain in his position as president of the Hellenic Basketball Federation for even a moment.
There are now two paths for him: either to RESIGN or to be REMOVED from the position of president of the HBF!
